Abalone shells belong to haliotid family and distributed worldwide.

Although use of abalone shells in USA is very popular, it is not a habitat of our coast waters.

The majority of abalone shells live in cold waters of Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Africa,

and Western North America. Although there are wide color range of abalone shells live in oceanic

waters, blue abalone is one of the rarest color.

Size of the abalone shells range from 2 to all the way to 10 inches.  For our wreaths, we use sizes between 3-4 inches.
